Blue Ribbon for Australian waxflower

Chamelaucium waxflower Moonlight DelightHelix Australia announces that their premium hybrid Chamelaucium Moonlight Delight recently has been awarded a Blue Ribbon in the Outstanding Varieties Competition at the Society of American Florists (SAF) Convention in Phoenix, Arizona (USA ). The SAF Outstanding Varieties competition had over 270 entries with supplier countries including USA, Canada, Colombia, Thailand, Ecuador, South-Africa as well as Australia. Blue Ribbons were awarded based on colour and commercial appeal, stem and foliage, bloom form and size, and overall quality and presentation.

Extreme uniqueness
The winning stems of waxflower Moonlight Delight were grown and harvested at WAFEX’s farm in Longford Victoria, then packed and exported to America via WAFEX’s Melbourne operation. The stems were then received, processed and displayed at the competition by WAFEX USA. Steve Dionne, president WAFEX USA says that receiving a prestigious SAF Blue Ribbon is highly respected as the judges are industry peers representing all segments of the North-American floral trade. “I am proud of our Helix Australia subsidiary for developing a waxflower hybrid of such extreme uniqueness.”
